20 (19)
15Prayer of the Jews for their king.
2 May the Lord answer you in the day of distress
2 may the name of Jacobs God give you protec tion.
3 May he send you help from the sanctuary
3 and give you support from Mount Zion.
4 May he remember all your oblations
4 and look favorably on your burnt offerings.
5 May he grant you your hearts desire
5 and fulfill all your plans.
6 In your victory let us shout for joy
6 and raise our banner in the name of our God.
6 May the Lord grant all your requests.
7 Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed
7 he has answered him from his holy heaven
7 with victories from his right hand.
8 Some boast of chariots, some of horses
8 but we boast in the name of the Lord our God.
9 Their forces will collapse and be crushed,
9 but ours shall rise, and stand firm.
10 When we call, answer us, O Lord,
10 make the king victorious!
